Badgers' senior forward Jon Leuer (6'10") is busy practicing with the USA
Basketball Select Team and the 2010 USA Men's National Team in Las
Vegas. He's the first Badger to be named to the Select Team since 1996. This past season, he led
the Badgers in scoring average (15.4) and rebounds per game (5.8) and was named
honorable mention 2010 All-Big Ten.
Already recognized in Madison for his basketball prowess, Leuer is garnering
praise among the national team as well—when asked who was the best college
player practicing with the USA National team, Villanova coach Jay Wright pointed
to Leuer above any other.
Leuer has also been lauded by coach Bo Ryan for his leadership skills on and
off the court, as he remained an active member of the team despite spending the
first part of last season on the sidelines with a broken wrist.
